Why should we be your wedding vendor?

-
Well, we've had a camera in our hands for more than 20 years between us, so we're not rookies and know what do to with it in almost any situation and lighting.
-
We are SO much more than just an 'investment'. We are an experience - YOUR experience - we consider ourselves a part of Team Bride & Groom and want to make you look and feel AMAZING!
-
We will treat you as if you were our family. We will utilise our experience shooting weddings every weekend to help you craft a timeline that allows your day to be your day, just how you want it.
-
We will be there for you, as a resource with more than two decades of experience.
-
Because weddings can be stressful and overwhelming, and we will be with you the entire time.
-
We relate to people of all types and ages, and it shows in the photos of your guests.
-
We problem-solve and always stay calm, never panic even when things are going crazy and will usually help to keep you calm too. If it rains, if there’s a heatwave, if it gets dark early, if hair and makeup run late, if we get stuck in traffic - we've got you, and your images will still be amazing.
-
Our association doesn't end at wedding day - we have done multiple shoots with couples who have come back to us after having kids to do maternity and family shoots! This is the truest testament to the people we are and the work we do,

We will be doing what we do, so that you can focus on the amazing gathering of everyone you love best in the world and trust that your photography is in good hands. That means we have fun together while we capture your important memories.

Allow us to capture your special day with some great pictures for you, but also to help remove some of the stress from your wedding day so that you can enjoy it completely!

When should we book you for our wedding?
ASAP. Since we can't "hold" dates or "pencil you in" dates are only booked when...well, when the booking fee is paid. You might be surprised how far in advance our bookings can be. Don't wait.
Most clients book within a year of the wedding date, sometimes as close as two months prior, sometimes a full calendar year or more in advance! This also allows you to plan your timeline out properly with us to ensure we have factored in shooting time!

Do you take last minute bookings?
Yes. Contact us ASAP using the Enquiry Form at the top of this page to find out if we're available for your wedding.

How do I book?
Contact us using the Enquiry Form at the top of this page and we’ll send you a booking form and give you a call.

What does the booking process involve?
You contact us, we will give you a call to discuss and get you to complete an Information Form.
We will then arrange to meet with you both for a coffee to go through your rough plan for the wedding and the package you are interested in.

We will provide our feedback from a photography point of view to ensure your timelines allow for photography time. The booking fee is then payable when you’re ready to lock our services in, with the balance payable up to 1 week prior to your wedding. Easy peasy.

Can you hold a date for me?
Wedding photographers unfortunately can't hold the date or pencil you in without a paid booking as we could miss out other bookings.

Is there a deposit required to secure my wedding date?
A $1,000 deposit is requested to secure your booking with the remaining balance payable anytime up to 1 week before the event.

Can we pay you part of the amount after the wedding?
We require full payment 1 week before the event please.

How much do your wedding photography packages cost?
Click on our Wedding Packages to see our offerings. You will notice we like to be simple and transparent with what we offer to give you peace of mind on exactly what you are getting.
No extra-extras to inflate our packages - you can always add extras if your budget allows.
What if I find a package cheaper than yours?
We'd never push anyone to book with us. It comes down to what you want and what your vendor is offering. I don’t like to speak about others, so I’ll tell you about us.
You might see us for an 8hr day - what you don't see is the many, many hours we spend in front of a computer refining your memories to look the best they can.

Rule 1: You generally get what you pay for with your photography. What you want in a wedding photographer is someone personable, fun, professional and can take nice photos right? Kinda - those are basic. Anyone can take the odd nice photo in perfect conditions.
So what really makes a photographer worthwhile?!
Someone who is organised, pays attention to detail, intimately knows how to use a camera to create art and has many years of experience shooting weddings and other genres (corporate, fashion, landscape & wildlife photography).
This means they have the ability to handle ANY of the number of scenarios a typical wedding day can throw at them. Not everyone does.
What if its dark indoors, the sun is directly in your face at the ceremony or its suddenly really dark and cloudy and later at your reception there’s a purple spot light on your faces - and things are running a bit over so you need to quickly get through your shots and have no time to fiddle with settings?!
This is what you pay for. Someone that can handle it all without missing a beat and get it right, with you feeling glamorous and not noticing any difference.
Some premium photographers are much pricier - why are your prices so reasonable for an experienced photographer?
Firstly, the main reason I keep my packages reasonable is because I don’t run this business to make bank. I have a regular 9-5 so I can focus on why I actually shoot weddings - it is my absolute passion and I personally ensure my team is of a similar mindset!
Secondly, a lot of vendors offer plenty of extras, frills, prints, albums, etc inflating the package.
You’ll notice I don’t.
You pay for what you have hired us for - photography and personality. Our expertise taking photos and of course your actual real experience with us on your big day. That’s it.
You can then decide if you want to add drone footage, an album or extra photographers based on your budget but those are extras and not the main reason you book a photographer.
Everyone has the choice. Choose whoever you go with based on the main reason you’re booking them first. The extras can easily be added to suit your budget.

Can I upgrade my package later on?
All of our wedding packages can be upgraded anytime, meaning you don’t have to commit to getting everything done all at once and you can add extra items that we would be happy to source for you e.g. albums, canvases, etc

What parts of our wedding day will you cover?
During the time we're with you we'll be photographing all your usual wedding festivities as well as any other surprises or specials requests you might have in store.

This may include the bride/groom preparations, wedding ceremony, photoshoots, cultural traditions and customs, games, performances, guests, fireworks, reception formalities i.e. bridal party and newlyweds entrance, speeches, cake cutting, first dance, dances, bouquet and garter toss, games, newlyweds exit and the list goes on.

In short, we have our eyes and ears open all day, ready to capture all of the moments you’ll cherish forever, including any spontaneous ‘priceless’ moments. (check our packages for more info).

How many coverage hours do I need?
You're probably wondering, how long do I really need? That is up to you, but we highly recommend a full day.
So much detail and effort goes into planning your wedding and you get just one opportunity to capture all the memories from one of the most important days of your life, one chance only to have your day, its finer details and its story captured to remember for years to come.
Photography is the only permanent reminder of even the little things, long after we have forgotten everything!

How do I know how many hours I should allow for each location?
This is a VERY common and important question. Weddings is our business, so we’ve learnt a lot from experience over the years.
We will sit down with you to discuss your timeline in detail well before your date, and provide you with some guidance on rough timelines, as well as being able to provide you with some insight into things you may not have considered from my learnings (e.g. a usually 5 min walk to a location takes closer to 15-20 mins with a bridal party, children, high heels, etc)

If we're running late, will you stay later than you were scheduled?
Absolutely – We understand that not everything goes as planned during a wedding. We never pack up before the finish time, and we generally do not leave on the dot when time is up and stay a few minutes extra to allow for any delays. If more time is required, we will quietly ask you a few minutes before time is up whether or not you would like to extend.

Do you edit all of our photographs?
Yes, we do! Every image that you receive will be digitally edited.

Are our digital files watermarked?
They are not. The high-resolution files provided to you do not bear any watermarks.

How many pictures will we receive?
The number of photographs taken depends on many things - the number of guests, hours of coverage, types of events, hours of dancing, and so forth. Our average for an eight hour day is between 500-1,000 images

How would you describe your style of photography?
In general we cover weddings in a very contemporary, journalistic style but we don't believe
photography should be limited by a "genre."
While we love casual and candid shots in our coverage of the day, we do believe that there is a time and place for gorgeous, casually posed images too.

So while we won't stop you and make you pose all the time, we'd like about an hour (or more!) alone with you both (if possible) sometime during the day to create some images of you without your wedding party or guests looking on.
We also believe strongly in preserving all of the details of the wedding; from your cake to your shoes, so our work is very lush with detail images. Our images of the guests at the wedding are almost 100% journalistic - we prefer to capture them laughing, smiling, dancing, drinking, and having a great time.

What kind of equipment do you use?
We use top of the line professional Canon and Sony cameras and professional series lenses as well as professional Godox flashes, modifiers and plenty of spare batteries.
We currently shoot with a Canon R5 (King of cameras), a Canon 5d MkIII & a Canon 5d MkII, as well as a Sony aIV & Sony aIII.

Do you use filters like ones on Instagram or whatever the latest trend is?
We don't believe wedding photography should be limited by a filter.
Wedding photography to us is timeless and we want you to look back and appreciate your photos in close to real colour in 50 years just as they were - standing the test of time and the latest fads.

We do however colour-tone or black-and-white individual shots. You may find them interspersed within your photos to give you a slightly different look.

When will I receive my package after the wedding is done?
We will generally have everything ready within 3 months from your wedding date.

Do you do video too?
If you do something, do it well.
Instead of hiring contractor videographers to shoot video for us we have actually teamed up with some amazing, award winning videographers to create some very special combined Photo and Video Packages.
This means you still get a specialist photographer and a specialist videographer's service but in one package and each specialises in what they do.
No need to rush around sourcing a seperate photographer and videographer.
We are experienced at working with and around each other and cover a lot of weddings together.

This means no coming in each others way, competing, or blocking views and cameras at crucial moments to ensure a seamless experience on your wedding day.
Couples and guests often compliment us on how well we all work together.

So leave your photography & videography to us - less stress for you organising separate vendors, with the added bonus of saving a few hundreds in combining the two, while getting our individual signature top quality service. You can see our Combined Photo+ Video Packages on our Wedding Packages page.
Any tips on how we look our best on our wedding day?
One of the greatest ways to help ensure you look your best on your big day is to complete all tasks and decisions related to your planning ONE WEEK before your wedding. You’ll likely start feeling a bit stressed during the final days leading up to the ceremony. We want you looking and feeling AMAZING and ready for the best day of your life!
Making those last minute decisions a bit earlier in the week will allow you time to relax, stress less and be more free to enjoy and get quality rest before your big day, which in turn shows in your photos.
Oh and drink lots of water in the days leading up – water is great for your skin!
